18 hole public golf course in norwalk, iowa

We all know that the weather can change quickly in Iowa.  However, it seems like all of the local meteorologist are in agreement that we are in for a big change in temperatures.  We MIGHT be down to a few golfing days left in 2022.  The Legacy will be open for play Tuesday, November 8th through Thursday, November 10th.  From there, we will be closely monitoring the forecast and course conditions.

  • Course open for play Tuesday, November 8th – Thursday, November 10th
  • Beginning Friday, November 11th, the course will be CLOSED for play until the temperatures and conditions improve.  We fully plan on being back open once temperatures rebound.

The nearly 3″ of rain we received over the last few days was exactly what the course needed. However, we now need to see some sunshine to help dry out the course. The forecast for early in the week looks good to get back out on the course for what may be your last round in 2022. As we head into fall/winter the weather and temperatures will determine when the course will be open. We will stay open as long as we can, but will be closely monitoring the conditions. This is our tentative plan for this week (November 7th-13th).

  • Course open for play Sunday, November 6th – Thursday, November 10th
  • Carts will be restricted to the paths only for an extended period of time
  • Driving range is closed for the remainder of the season for maintenance

*Based upon long range forecast the course MIGHT be closed Friday, November 11th – Sunday, November 13th due to cold temperatures*

The rain has not stopped for 24 hours and it has been a welcome sight.  This rainfall will do wonders for the course conditions in the future.  Due to the poor forecast along with more rain/snow expected to fall this morning, the golf course will be closed for today (Saturday, November 5th).  We will be back open for play tomorrow (Sunday, November 6th).

  • Golf carts will be restricted to the paths only for an extended period of time
  • Driving range is closed for maintenance for the remainder of the season

The weather for early next week looks good to get back out on the course! If you have questions please call 515-287-7885 x2.
